On the ocean, the best bass fishing is done from a kayak.
Whether it's calicos in the kelp or sandbass in the flats, there are usually a few around no matter what time of year.
The bass local to southern california waters consist mostly of calico and sand bass. However, there are also white seabass,
black seabass and striped bass known to go along with the mix. I have caught, landed and released at least 1 fish of
all the species listed above.
